No. 20 Oklahoma State proved that history isn't everything in getting its first win in Lubbock since 1944.
Oklahoma State, considered the underdogs playing at Texas Tech, won 34-17 in its 2nd Big 12 game of the season. That improves their record to 6-0, and 2-0 in league play.
OSU had an impressive first quarter, outscoring Tech 21-0. In past games this season, the Cowboys have had a rocky start only to improve after the half. OSU continued their offensive output, outscoring the Red Raiders in all but one quarter.
But even more impressive was their defense. OSU held the 4th ranked pass offense in the country to only 17 points.
Here are some of the impressive stats from Saturday's game:
Brandon Weeden: 24/35, 356yd, 1 TD
Kendall Hunter: 130yd, 1 TD
Justin Blackmon: 10 rec, 207 yd, 1 TD
The Poke defense definitely showed signs of improvement, and Brandon Weeden is starting to look more comfortable during the first half of the game.
OSU played well as a whole, but one player stood out from the rest. Justin Blackmon continued his streak of 100 yard games with his 207 yard performance. That puts him at over 100 yards in every game this season. To me, he definitely earned the title of MVP of this game.
Blackmon for Heismon!
