The Air Raid Offense Defined

The Delaware Wing-T, the Wishbone Offense by Emory Bellard, the West Coast Offense by LaVell Edwards, the Spread Offense by Rusty Russell*, the Air Raid Offense by Hal Mumme.  This is the evolution of offensive playcalling in college football.

Of course, OSU currently runs a version passed down from Mumme to Mike Leach during their time at Iowa Wesleyan which was then passed down to Dana Holgorsen during their time at Valdosta State.

In an effort to better understand the techniques and playcalling involved in the Air Raid Offense, I have located the 1999 Oklahoma Sooners Offensive playbook.  This was Mike Leach's final season as the OU Offensive Coordinator before taking the Head Coach position at Texas Tech in 2000.

The playbook is in PDF format and can be found at http://www.bucksweep.com/spreademandshredem/playbooks/1999%2520Oklahoma%2520Offense[1].pdf
