Let's Get Pasted is a place where we periodically post a collection of links, quick thoughts, and hopefully one day, a haiku.

Now with less tornado!

Orange-circle_medium NCAA Super Regionals Set - OKLAHOMA STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE
The rare Softball mention here at CRFF. While I admittedly don't follow the softball team, they are ranked 22nd, and hosting a super-regional series versus Houston and tickets are almost sold out.  I guess it is now time to pay attention.  Now I can relate to OU fans basketball fandom in 2002 and 2009.

Orange-circle_medium Big 12 conference won't change name - Burnt Orange Nation
Thank the Sutton above that we can now reuse all the lame "Big 10 can't count" jokes on ourselves now. Shouldn't all conference names be regional based until super-conferences form?  Big East, SEC, Pac-12, ACC... all of these make sense regardless of changing league makeup. Why did the Big 6/7/8/12 and the Big 10 stray and go with the team count thing?  Wouldn't Big Central or Longhorn Conference make more sense for the Big 12?

Something I didn't know was possible.  A&M fans are too satisfied with modestly decent accomplishments.

Orange-circle_medium Dallas Mavericks 112, Oklahoma City Thunder 105: 2011 Western Conference Finals Game Four Recap; On the Brink - Welcome to Loud City
A day late on this, but as we know the Thunder are now on the brink after an epic collapse in game four.  My question about this, and the Bulls-Heat game for that matter, is why .... why oh why... when as a team you spend hours every day for years working on an offense, why does a last second shot come down to your best player dribbling around until the shot clock hits 3, then trying to drive on three guys, getting shut down, then having to shoot a long fadeaway that has about a 0.02% chance of going in?  In these situations you would think that you should be trying to execute your best possible play you know.  If the best possible play was your star dribbling around then jacking up a prayer, why wouldn't that be your offense for the entire game?  What ever happened to running a play for your best player?  What ever happened to the picket fence?
