Where will Oklahoma State Basketball's Seven Remaining Victories Come From?
It is agreed that Oklahoma State will need 9 wins in conference to make the NCAA Tournament. We are agreed on the right? Alright. Knowing this, I was looking at the remaining schedule and was trying to pick out the 7 wins OSU would get out of the eleven games that are left. And I have to admit, even being the homer that I am it was difficult to find seven wins. But I do think they are in there, I just couldn't decide where. That is where you come in....
Select the seven games below that you think are the most likely wins for the Cowboys on the remaining schedule. The only rule is: you must pick at least 7! I know confidence isn't high right now, but this is hypothetical, so let's be a little positive here. I'll post the results tomorrow.

I picked Texas Tech, and I would have picked them 7 times if possible.
We’re bad. I mean bad like strangling ourselves with a cordless phone bad.

Tech
is the only Big 12 team I havent yet seen play this season. I have heard awful things though, so I am looking forward to it.

I honestly have a hard time seeing 5 more wins.
I’m resigned to being encouraged by individual performances the rest of the season. It’s just a tune up for next year. I hope they can prove me wrong but I just can’t see this team doing much.

you sad bastard
If this were football, sure throw in the towel, but a basketball team and season is always evolving (for better or worse). Individual games and performances aren’t all that telling so you have to keep expectations pretty open for the rest of the season.
I don’t think it would be a mindblowing shock for the Cowboys to win the next 5 games in a row (UT, @TT, MU, OU, @NU)… I also wouldn’t be shocked with us losing the next 5 games. It just takes a couple of things to fall into place (maybe switch to a zone to help with the foul issues, outside shooting improves a little, etc) and all of a sudden the team is rolling… and the inverse is also true (see Texas 2010).
Such is the nature of basketball. It is a game of streaks and if there is any trend I am looking at right now it is that we have shown heart in a gutty win over ISU, and that we hung with Baylor in spite of the entire team being in foul trouble on the road.
I too have a hard time saying this team has 7 wins in em, but I do think it is possible. They have a lot of talent and have shown bursts of great play (when not in foul trouble). I wouldn’t rule out going 6-0 at home for the rest of the season, then we only need to win @TT and @OU to put us at 10 wins and in great position for the tourney. Until we lose to some really bad teams (OU, TT), or drop some winnable ones at home, I’m not ready to give up on anything.
