The 2012 Fiesta Bowl Speculation Thread: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State
Now that the dust has settled a bit on the BCS debacle, it's on to the next one. The Cowboys and the Cardinal could easily be the best game of the bowl season if both teams come to play.
The Tree is led by Heisman runner up Andrew Luck, who might be the most hyped college QB since Peyton Manning. The kid's a gamer and has led his team to an 11-1 record. I'm sure his mouth is watering at the opportunity to shred the Cowboy's "100th Ranked" defense.
Tip for drive by journalists covering the Fiesta Bowl:
Check out Oklahoma State's turnover margin and forced turnovers. The defense isn't bad, by any stretch.
Extra Tip
Don't piss Markelle Martin off in bowl games.
Use this thread to post whatever you want. BCS Rants, Nude Pics, Anti Stanford Propaganda...Whatever.
Go Pokes.

Andrew Luck shows his complete misunderstanding of the old wives tale about keeping your feet above your head to get pregnant.

Andy, Jan 2nd is your lucky day! Meet your dates for the evening...
Jamie, Markelle, and Richetti love Stanford!

Freakishly, Jamie and Richetti can each bench press Andy with 1 arm… And we haven’t even gotten to the line backers yet…

3 of the Nations Top 20 Interception Artists to play in Phoenix on Jan 2nd
And yes, Mr Brown, Mr. Gilbert and Mr. Thomas all wear orange…
I'm much more concerned about the ground game.
Taylor averages over 5 yards a rush. Gaffney over 6. Also Luck isn’t bad when he decides to tuck it and run. Much more mobile than you would think a guy wearing a knee brace would be. I think if this turns into a passing contest it’s going to be a long night for Stanford because they don’t have much in terms of receivers. Fleener is really their main target. Also Luck has shown a tendency to make some truly awful throws when under pressure. But if they can keep the score in range enough to allow them to run the ball a lot they could be a headache for us.
I'm curious to see how we do against a true pro style attack
I think we’ll be a lot better against the run when we’re not spread out. I honestly think the game will get out of hand early making it hard for them to run at all.

what is the over/under
For number of headlines in the DOK between now and jan 4th that use the word “Luck” in a punny way?
OSU hoping to get Luck-y in the Fiesta, etc etc.
I say the o/u is at 4.5.

If there's one rule
It’s that you can never underestimate when it comes to the Oklahoman and stuff like this.

My money is on OSU
I love the Fiesta Bowl and in my mind it will be a much better game than the so-called BCS Championship Game this year.
Thanks for posting that video of Markelle Martin, that was a vicious hit; I’ll be watching that video a couple more times this afternoon :)
He also had some vicious hits
In last year’s Alamo Bowl. He seems to really shine in the bowl games.

I have been praying for 10 days that he lays one of those on Luck.
Call me sadistic.

OSU run defense vs. Stanford's pass defense...
What will happen with Christian Littlehead? Not that he’s a world beater by himself, but he obviously gives our DL more depth and is also our designated inside run stopper. His contribution (or lack thereof) will be seen in the early 3rd quarter after fatigue has set in a bit.
If he plays, I’m picking OSU to win by 34 in a blow-out. If he doesn’t, OSU wins by 17 in an up & down game. Stanford will look like they’re running in mud against OSU’s speed.
