Rachel McCoy Tattles on UT

Bumped from FanPosts - Sam

Apparently Colt McCoy’s wife called into Colin Cowherd’s ESPN Radio show and said that Colt and all the other star players recieved tons of “offers” for illeagal benefits while at Texas. She wouldn’t name names but implied some teammates (not Colt) took the benefits. She certainly made it seem as though the boosters in Austin are more than ready to grease palms. Not shocking news but does someone saying it out loud get the NCAA interested in looking into it?

link to a story on Deloss Dodds’ statement today. If you follow the link in this article you can listen to her on the radio.

Bet there are some Longhorns today that think Colt should muzzle his gal.

This is no Cam Newton/Jim Tressel situation but Dodds did say that their house is clean, so he better be right because Ohio State proves that the cover up is worse than the crime.  Just thought this was interesting, comment if you do too.

Beside the fact that two dudes landed smokin hot women?

nothing, but really, what she said wasn’t that bad, and it seems texas fans are losing their minds over nothing. Wanna know a secret? Someone at OU is receiving illegal benefits, right now. So is someone at OSU, and UT, and KU, and Alabama, and Oregon, and probably all 120 FBS schools. Duh duh duhhhhhh.

I think the bigger point is...

She’s as dumb as a box of rocks for calling in the first place. What good could have possibly come from that? Has anyone ever accused Colt of taking illegal gifts or talking to agents? As far as I know, he’s always been the squeaky clean golden boy. So what was the point?

Will Texas get in trouble for this? Likely not. Still, it doesn’t do UT any favors for the wife of a recent football player to get on a national radio station and say that some of his teammates did take benefits and/or talk to agents. The NCAA is hammering down on football superpowers right now and the last thing UT needs is for someone to give the powers that be any reason to come sniffing their way.

Basically, she needs to shut up and perform the duties she was chosen for. Namely, taking hot pics in bikinis and showing Jordan Shipley how to cup the balls.

Good question.

All I know is that she randomly called in. She wasn’t a planned guest or anything like that.

As I understand it, Cowherd was making a point that the boosters at Ohio State should face punishment for tempting players, and she agreed so strongly that she decided to call in to tell the innocent players’ side of the story. It’s hard to say no to adults when you have a pure Texan upbringing. You’re supposed to believe that all adults know what is best for you… or at least that was what it seemed to me she was saying. And I’m certain that she was as pure as the driven snow when Colt put a ring on her.

Some of the stuff on the Burnt Orange Nation thread suggests because she was a Baylor Track athlete this is somehow a Baylor conspiracy against Texas.

I just love the idea that such a comedic situation has even a tiny chance of hurting Texas. “It’s not the buying players luxury items that brought us down, it’s the Delta Delta Delta girl that our old QB was bangin after games.”

For what it's worth...

she better hope colt can make it even three years in the nfl. the cleveland browns have a record of dismal qb's

last good one was i think bernie kosar.

Anderson Silva would never fight "Bones". He is too scared to fight the real P4P champion. Nick Diaz, the man who will prove to the MMA world that he is the best WW in the world. Still public enemy #1 and enjoying every minute of it.

Wives of players should never call a radio station

It should be a signed agreement between professional athlete and their wife. Seriously, it will never end well.
