Scott Verplank is OSU's Hope For PGA Championship Tournament; Last Major This Year
Former OSU golfer Scott Verplank is doing good things for his career with his performance in the last major golf tournament of the year, the PGA Championship Tournament. More importantly, Verplank is the last chance this year for this thing Yachoff has built in his head, the Oklahoma State Major Golf Championship. Although these are professional players and have no official ties to the university anymore because they walk around parks all day with sticks for a living, it's nice to see former Cowboys win big tournaments. And it would be doubly nice to see Verplank who has come close, but never won a major, win or finish in the top ten. While Tiger left early Friday to go chase muff, Verplank is currently tied for eighth at -3 Under with two holes left. So Go Scott, Go Pokes!
