Oklahoma State Loses at Texas A&M 76-61, Keiton Page tries to dunk on some dude

Page_dunk_medium

Not much to be said about today's game. We're lean even at full strength, so playing without Jurick really hurt. Shows how valuable his minutes are to this team. Aside from that, the officiating was just awful. Touch fouls on both ends eliminated any chance of the Pokes playing hard nosed defense and making a run after their shots stopped falling. The loss was the 14th straight conference road loss for the Cowboys. Their best shot at getting a road win will come Tuesday when they travel to Lubbock to play the Texas Tech Red Raiders. It should be a brutal game to watch but hey, a win's a win. Fingers crossed.

Oh, and did I mention Keiton Page tried to dunk on some dude? Enjoy!

Daniel Alexander is the player rejecting Page

After watching this game, I’m kind of perplexed at Ford’s infatuation with Page. The guy seems to think he is a much better player than he is.

Do you even watch basketball or do you just blindly make comments about things you have no intellect on?

In case you didn’t notice, OSU is extremely thin and Page is the most experienced player on the team. Coach Ford doesn’t have a choice but to play him.

Regardless of Keiton’s athletic talent he is the smartest player on the court and without him, this team would fall apart even more so than it already had.

Now please be off. I’m sure there’s an article dying to be written about how A&M is definitely going to be successful in football next year…again. For real this time, though. Super serious.

Beergut's still pissed

that an Aledo OL would rather play in the Big 12 than the SEC.

LOL

You know you’re grasping at straws when you bring up football recruiting.

We took Bralon Addison away from you, so I’d say it’s a trade that went in our favor.

If you ever read my blog, you’d know I’m a big fan of Joe Wickline, so I don’t blame someone for wanting to play for him. That said, if Wilson thinks he is going to get playing time as a true freshman, he is free to believe whatever lies anyone tells him.

LOL back at you

Who wrote this?

“It may sound arrogant to say so, but if a high school recruit is interested in playing in the Big 12 over the SEC, I don’t want him. If a kid is interested in being somewhere in the Big 12 over A&M, I don’t want him. I’m not worried about Michael Wilson committing to Oklahoma State, because if he doesn’t want to play in the SEC, we don’t want him.”

So, beergut, all I did was point out your problem with a kid from Texas preferring to play in the Big 12 over the SEC. No more, no less. You want to call it straw grasping…I don’t care.

by OSUtopia on Jan 28, 2012 11:11 PM CST up reply actions

You just contradicted yourself

Where in my quotes did I say I was angry Wilson de-committed? If anything, you just proved my point, that you’re grasping at straws trying to claim something that doesn’t exist.

I don't give a fuck

You want to trash a high school kid because he changed his mind about where to go to school, go for it. Be a dick. Just remember, he’s the one that spurned your ass. You can say you don’t want him all day long. He’s the one that said he doesn’t want you….first.

Now go spare the SEC to death. Thank God we upgraded the Big 12 with TCU.

Yeah, I really trashed him.
Just remember, he’s the one that spurned your ass. You can say you don’t want him all day long. He’s the one that said he doesn’t want you….first.

Just like Addison spurned you?

Again, you’re bringing up football recruiting on a thread about your basketball team in an attempt to make yourself feel better. Pathetic.

hey dipshit...

How about Bralon Addison now??

hey dipshit

I’m happy Brandon made a good decision for him. I think Oregon will give him a shot at QB, where we were only looking at him at WR, so it is a good move for him.

I don't give a shit how many stars a player has, in college its about buying into the system, work ethic, attitude and playing as a team. We all know this.

And A&M’s system, which apparently has a foundation since some time in the late 1800’s/early 1900’s, how’s that been workin’ for ya?

“Nothing is more common than an unsuccessful player with talent.” There’s a plaque somewhere around the A&M football stadium with this quote engraved in it….I swear!!! It’s there, it’s there….oh wait, it’s on the field every game that’s played by A&M.

So Beergut, just go away. There’s no need to have these proxy battles when we know you’re still sore in the ass about football. Go jerk off in the jizz jar and get over it.

Thin?

A&M played without three starters today. We had a walk-on manning the point for half the game. Thin isn’t an excuse.

I watch enough basketball to know Page sucked today, and tries to make plays that exceed his ability. That is in direct contradiction of your claim that he is a smart or heady player.

As much as I like Page, he is downright terrible. He only made 3 shots today. He was less than 20% on his shooting from the floor.

I could watch him try and dunk on people all day though. It was fantastic. Do you think he would have made the basket if he wasn’t stuffed?

page

Is a great 3rd or 4th option. Or would be a great energy guy off the bench. As cincy wrote last week, he isn’t a bad player, he just isn’t cut out for the role he is being forced into.

Not to bag on Keiton, I think he's got a good BB IQ and will be a great coach....maybe he'll be a better coach than Ford some day....

But he sometimes plays like the dude from Hoosiers that he looks like (the dude who shoots granny style). He has moments of brilliance but I tend to think it only works when the match up is good. Has nothing to do with his heart beating OSU Orange every second (never would question it, dude’s orange through an through) and I think he plays absolutely harder and with the best attitude of anyone EVER. He will go very very far in anything he does in life and I hope that it’s coaching, but I think Ford sets Keiton up for failure too much…….which in no way is Keiton’s fault. I blame Ford for Page’s performance.

Anyway, just my opinion which probably is worth nada…..

Typical Travis Ford basketball folks..

Beat a really good team (Missouri) and then follow that up with a horrible loss (Texas A&M without Middleton and Harris)

I can totally understand Beergut’s evaluation of Page – even if it’s inaccurate. He does take horrible shots and he does try to make plays that he is incapable of making. But that’s a relatively new development.

Ford’s chaotic management of the team has turned Page into something he’s not. I would expect some “I’m so sad this is how his season is going” bullshit from Ford any day now…

That being said, he’s a better shooter than anyone at A&M right now, and Aggie fans are still really queer.

Lay off Page. Don't sounds like Horns fans... Disgusting...

Oddly even when he’s not playing well, Ford keeps him in. It’s a setup for him. Last time I checked, you losers aren’t hitting many 3-pointers in conference ball, now are you?
