Anthony Slater from the O'Colly tweeted a quote from Coach Ford following the blowout handling escape at home from the worst team in the conference (and I say that with some hesitation).
"I am not afraid to play walk-on Christian Sager."
Really?
Why would you have to say that? I mean, what would you be putting on the line by doing so?
OSU just completed a game with it's fewest turnovers (2) of the season...against a crappy opponent...at home...where the frosh phenom AND the senior leader both put 20+ on the board...AND HAD TO HANG ON FOR DEAR LIFE TO WIN.
Hell, Ford shouldn't be afraid to play anyone who shows up in the stands. Play the old dude making his moves on the "Kiss Cam." He definitely had some gas left in the tank.
OK OK...I'll stop being a negative Nelly...for a minute.
Bright spots...Nash in the first half (where was he with the game on the line?)...Paige when it mattered (remind him to only shoot when covered or spinning off balance)...Soucek with quality minutes, and registering points for our post position (shocking). A little better offensive movement at times.
Ok, that's enough...
What do you think the over/under should be for the average losing margin to the top 6 teams in the conference?
25?
Seriously, that crowd was pitiful, and I can't blame them. If that attendance continues, it will make for one certainty...Ford will not be the coach for 2012-13.
Maybe THAT'S what he is afraid of?
