Oklahoma State learned some bad news when it was announced that guard Brian Williams is out for the year with a wrist injury.
The injury to Oklahoma St. Cowboys guard Brian Williams is more serious than originally thought. Late Friday night, head coach Travis Ford announced that Williams would miss the entire 2012-13 season with a wrist injury. This is a big blow to the Cowboys as Williams was a key contributing player last year, and he was expected to take his game up a level this season.
Ford talked about Williams' injury at Big 12 media days by saying this loss of Williams would be felt as rebounder, and he mentioned how Williams was one of the more athletic players in the league. Williams also was a key player for Oklahoma State because of his versatility. He was able to play as a guard and, sometimes, as a forward if needed.
Last year, Williams averaged 9.6 points and 3.3 rebounds while playing nearly 28 minutes per game as a redshirt freshman with the Cowboys.
