Winning, Kansas and Getting Smart

Oklahoma State football: Cowboys are in good shape as long as they keep winning | NewsOK.com

John Helsley presents a slightly pessimistic view for the Cowboys, as this article touches on the need for the Cowboys to finish strong to become bowl eligible. Around here, opinions are probably overly optimistic, but this OSU team still has the ability to do a lot more than simply become bowl eligible. With the Big 12 shaping up for a crazy path, the Pokes still have a ton to play for. But, Helsley's main point is correct -- the Cowboys have to win.

Oklahoma State basketball: Freshman Marcus Smart drawing high praise from college coaches | NewsOK.com

Oklahoma State freshman point guard Marcus Smart is drawing major praise from big-time coaches, namely his U.S. team coaches Billy Donovan, Mark Few and VCU, as well as Fran Fraschilla. Call me crazy, but I think Smart lives up to the hype, at least more so than Le'Bryan Nash did last season. If he does, he could be a one-and-done player, but even one great year could make Smart the savior of Oklahoma State basketball -- and Travis Ford's job.
