Baylor at Oklahoma State: A little help from GIA?

The Baylor Baptist Bears travel to historic Gallagher Iba Arena today to take on an Oklahoma State team coming off their first road win in 2 years. The Bears absolutely manhandled the Cowboys in Waco back on January 14, so it's interesting that the Cowboys are just a 6 point dog. Can the Cowboys compete with the bigger, longer Bears?

History says yes. Baylor hasn't won in Stillwater in nine years. The Cowboys are 24-2 All Time against the Bears in Stilly. But will it matter?

Like every other game from here on out, it's going to come down to 2 things. Can Le'Bryan Nash play like the Big 12 Freshman of the year and can Keiton Page hit his shots. If both players are "on" we can essentially get into a shootout of sorts, like we did with Missouri. The home crowd at GIA helps a lot in a shootout type game because the players feed off of the energy. This makes it hard for even really good teams to win close games against us.

That being said, we won't stand a chance if either of those guys have a bad day. We just don't have the depth to support that. So you'll likely know within the first 5 minutes whether or not we've come to play. Something tells me we will, but Baylor is just a little too good.

Final Score Prediction? Baylor 62 Oklahoma State 56

Don't know

My advice to him would be to stay off twitter, though.

dumb foul by Page when we were only down 1 with 50 secs to go

you have to have better ball denial there. Saying that, I can’t believe he didn’t get the foul called for him on the 3 pointer pump fake. That was a bad no call which could have tied the game. With all that aside, we still had a chance at a rebound after a missed baylor free throw with 9 secs left. We were only down two, and would have had a shot to win it or tie. Gotta go after that rebound harder.

This has to be considered a decent showing after getting absolutely demolished earlier in the season by this same bears team. Of course, this is the first time in a decade, that we lost to baylor at GIA. Seems like that is a trend that has been too common this season.

I agree

its disappointing hearing “Coach (insert name) has never won here before.” knowing there is a good chance it ends this year.

on a plus. I really like Brian Williams.

Not to mention the awful calls on Nash that basically made him irrelevant

Brian Williams played really good. Soucek sucks. Overall, a pretty impressive game. I’m really looking forward to next season.

Are we able to sign anymore kids since we lost so many players this year?

I am excited about Smart

and the other two recruits. It would seem that we would have a couple of open slots with the extra departures of Gulley and Dowell.

With Markel Brown stepping it up, Nash, and Williams, hopefully we are able to field a full team next year that is competitive. I’d like to see Cezar Guerrero take a positive step next season as well. He has a lot of quickness and potential, but I’m not sure what is going on there. The stinger he suffered before the season began could be affecting him or it could be an attitude or coaching issue.

soucek should be redshirting

being forced into duty

I know

I meant more he sucked today. Out of bounds when he hit that three, couple of travels, poor defense around the rim

Also, Sager played pretty good in the limited time he was in

We are extremely thin without Jurick

Sager played a couple minutes, but we pretty much fielded a team of 6 players. These kids should build up quite the stamina or just completely wear out in a couple games

Travis Ford needs to go. He is just as good as his former teammate and former Arkansas coach John Pelphrey. Good recruiter and needs to go! T.Boone please bring back the glory to GIA and the basketball program. You have worked miracles with the football program. PLEASE HELP US T. BOONE YOU ARE OUR ONLY HOPE!
