This article from Sunday’s Oklahoman is yet another reason for Oklahoma State fans to be ecstatic for the debut of freshman QB Wes Lunt. By now, most fans know all about Lunt, and many believe he can be great. Still, the thing that should give Pokes fans the most confidence is the words of praise in this article coming from veterans Joseph Randle and Tracy Moore. If Lunt’s teammates have legitimate confidence in him, it will be tough for him to fail.
Oklahoma State’s Sept. 29 matchup with Texas made the cut for David Ubben’s "Biggest Big 12 Games," and don’t be surprised if the game lives up to the hype. If all goes well, there is a great chance both teams will be undefeated heading into this game, and this contest will be the first big test for Lunt and the Cowboys. A win would likely silence the critics and put Oklahoma State back into the conversation as contenders for a second Big 12 title.
Yesterday the soccer team got well deserved publicity. Today the men’s cross country team gets a shout out, as they will start the year ranked No. 2 in the nation by U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The team is coming off its fourth consecutive Big 12 title and finished second last year at the NCAA Nationals. Look for this group to add to the list of teams making things happen in Stillwater.
