Oklahoma State Cowboys Football
Possible Scenarios for the 2012 Oklahoma State Football Team
The 2012 Oklahoma State Football schedule was released yesterday so in my mind, it’s time to start speculating. We’ll see some key changes on offense so the question that will be on everyone’s mind is: What will this team look like? I’ve come up with a few scenarios that could play out.
Scenario #1 – The System Works
Yes, we lost Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon but the system that made those guys doesn’t fail. The O-Line continues to dominate, we continue to run the ball with authority and Chelf steps in and develops a quick rapport with Tracy Moore. The defense continues to improve and "C2M" shirts are created. Anything less than 9 wins under this scenario would be a step back.
2012 Cowboy Football Preview (Stupid Early Edition)
As I'm sure everyone knows by know, the 2012 Big 12 football schedule has been released (finally, dicks).Along with that comes speculation as to how the season will shape up. I'm here to answer that. Sure, we don't know who our quarterback will be and we don't know who "the guy" at wide receiver will be, but who cares? In Gundy I Trust (but fuck Bill Young). Along with being stupid early, this will also be stupid short. It's late, I'm tired, and my boss is an ass making me work 12 hour days (like I give a shit the future of the company rides on the project.) Oh wait, damn, now I do.
Savannah State: Win, next.
at Arizona: Win. They will get better, but as we saw at Michigan, it takes RichRod a while to get his players to fit his scheme, and in the meantime he can't adapt to what he has.
Louisiana: Win. As Todd Monken so eloquently put it, they only had one NFL type player last year, but we had Blackmon so fuck them. Also, that player is now gone, and it's at home, and well, they're still ULL to me.
Oklahoma State Football Schedule 2012

Oklahoma State Football Recruiting: It's National Signing Day!
Signing day is here so this will be the center of all news regarding our Oklahoma State Cowboys. I'll be checking in throughout the day, adding news in the comments and treating this like an Open Thread.
Here is a link the official list of Oklahoma State Signees. It's not official until you see it here.
You can check on the National Scene, through the eyes of the mothership here. Here's a good link to the Rivals list.
We'll have a summary later today or tomorrow. Go Pokes!
Brandon Weeden's Official Scouting Report for NFL GM's with a Brain

This $800 CRFF Photoshop image is property of CRFF
First things first, he's a Million Dollar Man.
But that doesn't mean he should be rooked out of any money or taken past the first round. I honestly can't believe some of the guys that are projected ahead of him right now. I'll accept Andrew Luck, even though we beat him (and Weeden out dual-ed him) Ryan Tannehill wears lipstick and was picked off multiple times by ESPN's worst defense in the country. I suppose there are some that would take RG3 over Weeden, but not me. The times I saw him play in Stillwater he looked, um, less than Heisman caliber.
Nick Foles? Brock Osweiler? Ryan Lindley? Kirk Cousins? Who are these guys?
Nick Foles was the third best QB in the Pac-12 and our defense shut him down twice. Brock Osweiler didn't even start for his team in 2010 (oh and he plays for Arizona State, but I won't go there). Ryan Lindley finished his career with a 52% completion rate AT SAN DIEGO STATE!
Next, you're gonna have to get over the fact that he's 28. Now to help with this, we've come up with 28 Modernities Older Than Brandon Weeden. So yeah, it's not that big of a deal. I really don't think any GM with a brain is going to look at these other spares and think otherwise.
But if you need a little more, look what the scouts are saying about him as he prepares for the Senior Bowl.
Oklahoma State Recruiting Update Part 2
Ok, here we go.
As many already know, Gundy pulled out all the stops and flipped Kevin Peterson from OU to the Pokes earlier this week. This was a huge pickup because for those that don't know, safety Johnny Thomas will not be returning to OSU to finish out his career. He couldn't get the grades back up so he is declaring for the NFL draft. With Devin Hedgepeth's torn achilles injury, the secondary is in need of some depth and Peterson definitely has the talent to provide it.
On a smaller but just as important note, Coach Wickline was also able to snag offensive lineman, Michael Wilson, away from Texas A&M which is a huge get. The guy is 6'6" and 285 lbs and extremely athletic. He is going to be a difference maker for sure.
On an even smaller note, Coach Dunn landed relatively unknown wide receiver, Jhajuan Seales. While his offer list doesn't jump off the page at you, he is extremely fast and has great hands. He looks like he may be the sleeper of the class.
So that leaves two open scholarships left...kind of. Trust me, the coaches will make room somehow if a top recruit suddenly decides to wear the brightest of Oranges.

CRFF and Doug Flutie Talk Shop About College Football
Last week I had the opportunity to talk with former QB great and current college football analyst, Doug Flutie. We talked about OSU football, the sham that was the BCS Title game, and about his involvement in the Capital One Cup. However, I did not get a chance to ask him to sign my box of Flutie Flakes....or did I?

Unfortunately, the audio recording ended up being less than stellar (awful) and thus I've spent the last several days since the interview trying to make it somewhat bearable.
I failed.
So as a last resort I transcribed the conversation (skipping all of my giggles, of course) for everyone to read. Also, keep in mind this interview took place right before the BCS National Championship.
Enjoy!
