Orange-circle_medium "He’s a beast" | OSU Cowboys
While this had been said about parts of me before, this time it is in reference to an Oklahoma State receiver in a Brandon Chatman article on newsok.com.

Freshman Chris Dinkins could develop into a big receiver that creates mismatches all over the field. At 6-foot-1, 224 pounds, Dinkins is heavier than several of the Cowboys linebackers.

"That guy’s a beast," junior receiver Josh Cooper said. "He’s either going to run past you or run over you. He’s a big train coming through there."

Orange-circle_medium The Associated Press: Freshmen to watch in the Big 12
A quick list of top freshmen in the conference.  Looks like they only named one per team so no Joseph Randle or Shawn Lewis mentions.

Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State: Coach Mike Gundy first noticed the speedy Huntsville, Texas, native toward the end of his sophomore year in high school, then got an early commitment and anxiously waited to get him signed. "His highlight tape went on for about an hour," Gundy recalls. He's already had an 80-yard punt return TD in a preseason scrimmage.

Orange-circle_medium Coaches Corner: Gunter Brewer - OKLAHOMA STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE
Talking receivers (DUH!).  In particular, Brewer is big on Blackmon, Anderson, Bowling, and Chelf.

Regarding Justin Blackmon:
"He's starting to mature. He's ahead of where we thought he would be. He's been a very pleasant surprise. We always knew he had the talent. He's made some plays that have been pretty eye-opening in camp and we've seen flashes of that.

Orange-circle_medium Report: Colorado Buffaloes To Remain In The Big 12 Until 2012 - The Ralphie Report
They remain skeptical over at Ralpie Report, but reports are that CU will be in the Big XII for two more seasons.

University of Colorado officials are planning to remain in the Big 12 Conference through the 2011-12 school year and join the Pac-12 Conference two years from now as originally announced in June.

"That is our plan and that is what we are working on," athletic director Mike Bohn told the Camera today.

Orange-circle_medium College Football BlogPoll Top 25: Alabama Predictably On Top Of Preseason Rankings - SBNation.com
Blogpoll for week 1 is out, and the introductory edition has all the interesting tidbits about how ballots will be handled.  I especially enjoy the ballots being called out for being too bizarre, too similar to coaches poll, to much homer-ism, etc.
