Is Oklahoma State vs. Tulsa a rivalry?

Is OSU vs. Tulsa really a rivalry?

Talk to a TU fan and they'll likely say yes and while most Oklahoma State fans won't agree, the Cowboys have played the Golden Hurricane more than any other school aside from Oklahoma.

The overall series with Tulsa stands at 37-27-5. Competitive, to say the least.

Since 1990, Tulsa is 3-8 versus OSU, and the Cowboys have scored at least 36 points in each of the last 3 contests. Back in 2004, OSU won 38-21 with Cowboy quarterback Donovan Woods 2 touchdown runs to go with a 46-yard TD pass to Chijuan Mack. Remember that guy? Holy shit!

Looking at those numbers, it's hard to say it's not a rivalry of some sort. Right? Or maybe it's just a convenient game for a couple schools about an hour away from each other.

Going in to Saturday’s game at BPS, the Cowboys are riding a 19-game home field winning streak in the series, dating back to a Golden Hurricane win in wonderful 1951. CBS introduced color television in 1951, it’s been a while.

What do you think? Is OSU vs. Tulsa a Rivalry?
