Tulsa vs. Oklahoma State: Gameday Thoughts

Back in the year 2000, TU coach Keith Burns said that TU and OSU were 2 teams going in different directions. The quote got a lot of OSU fans fired up, but looking back he was dead on.  Since then, Tulsa is 57-58 and does not have a single regular season win against a ranked team, or BCS school. Oklahoma State is 64-46 and has several "program building" wins against teams like Georgia, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Thanks for the insight Keith!

Today, OSU faces a Tulsa team that is defiinitely better than Washington State (who isn't?) and likely better from top to bottom than Troy.

The Cowboys will most certainly see the best Quarterback they've seen all year in UT Transfer GJ Kinne. He's as good as any Big 12 Quarterback and he's not going to overthrow his receivers like Jeff Tuel did. Make a mistake in coverage and he'll likely make you pay.

If OSU can pound TU's thin defensive front with the run (and I think they will) - they win easy. Kendall will leapfrog the Spanish Cornhusker and officially be the #1 rusher in the land.  However, if OState fucks around enough and lets Tulsa in the game early with a couple of Kinne scores, it could be another nail biting, PBR and Makers night.

Let's hope not.
