There's no two ways about it. Oklahoma State did not play well in Lawrence a few weeks ago. But after that loss the Cowboys really came together to win 3 of the next 4. They are fresh off a 53-52 win against Nebraska yesterday in the Big 12 Tourney.
The thing to remember about Kansas is that they have a tendency to become lazy against teams that aren't quite as good, allowing them to hang around. Remember, Kansas built a 24 point lead early in that game and squashed any hopes the Cowboys had for a win about 10 minutes into the first half.
Oklahoma State is going to need big games from everyone if they are going to have any chance. I know that sounds generic, but it's true.
Marshall Moses will have to score AND stay out of foul trouble. Keiton Page will have to be hot from 3. JPO will need to score 20+ and play good defense. Reger Dowell will have to run the point, make good passes and score 10 + and Matt Pilgrim will have to contribute some big time minutes inside. We'll have to get some good minutes from our bench too. Brown, Shaw and Sidorakis will have to play big.
Do this (and stay within 5 at the half) and I think we've got a chance. After all, it is March Madness?
Worst case, we play a decent game and jockey for home court in the NIT. You see, it's really a win/win.
Come join the conversation, and let's cyber cheer the Pokes on to a win in Kansas City.
