Oklahoma State will go on the road for its second-round NIT game, traveling to Pullman, Washington to face Washington State. The Cougars defeated Long Beach State last night 85-74 to punch their ticket to the second round.
The two teams have met only once before and that was back in 2004 when the Cowboys domintated the visiting Cougards 81-29. Oh, the memories. I think the football score from this past season was close to that too.
The Cougars are led by 6'6" guard Klay Thompson. He averages 22 points per game for the Cougars and will be a handful for the Cowboy defense.
The two teams have common opponents this year in Kansas State, Baylor and Gonzaga.
Washington State lost 63-58 to Kansas State back in December while OSU beat the Wildcats by 14 in Stillwater.
Against Baylor, the Cougars won 77-71 on a neutral court. OSU split with the Bears, losing 76-57 in Waco and winning 71-60 in Stillwater.
Against Gonzaga, Washington State defeated the Bulldogs 81-59 at home while OSU suffered a 21-point setback on New Year's Eve in Spokane.
Monday night's game will tipoff at 9:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN2.
