In an attempt to restore the rowdiness that once was in Gallagher Iba Arena, OSU brass announced that season ticket prices for basketball in the 300 level would drop from $575 per seat to $275 per seat beginning next season.
The Cowboys have played in front of small crowds for a while now. According to the Tulsa World, season ticket sales have dropped 24 percent since the 2006-2007 season.
But is this a good idea or a bad one?
I've always thought that season tickets for the 300 level were way overpriced, but in the back of my mind I attributed it to the price you have to pay to see a quality basketball program. Tickets to truly elite basketball programs are hard to come by.
Perhaps this is a good move to get the masses interested in OSU basketball again. $275 for a season ticket is a steal in my book - but I remember they days of the old GIA when it was a privelage to have season tickets.
What do you think?
