Southeast Region final, New Orleans:
No. 2 Florida vs. No. 8 Butler at 3:20 p.m. CT
West Region final, Anaheim:
No. 3 UConn vs. No. 5 Arizona, 5:55 p.m. CT
Two of the final four teams will be decided today as the elite 8 gets underway in New Orleans and Anaheim.
In the Southeast, the #2 seeded Florida Gators will take on what appears to be the tournament's hottest team in the #8 seeded Butler Bulldogs. I'm still kicking myself for picking ODU???? over Butler (the new Gonzaga). I've known this region was fucked from the beginning and won't be surpised to see either team head to Houston. Give me the Gators in a close one. Can't bet against their insane talent and Billy Donovan.
In the West, #3 seeded UConn takes on the tourney's biggest surpise in the #5 seeded Arizona Wildcats. I had a chance to see Arizona in Tulsa and they are a very, very well coached team. Sean Miller is going to do some big things, but will it be this year? It will be hard against Kemba Walker and the UConn Huskies. They are good, but they are also from the Big East. Hard to imagine not a single team out of 11 not making the final four, but I think 'Zona pulls out another close one, and heads to Houston to taunt all of the Texas boosters on what could have been...
