Songs that remind me of my time at Oklahoma State

I'm sure you all have one. A song that comes on and takes you right back to your college days. The salad days of penny beer, loose women, more beer and more loose women.

I have several that range from pure drunken memories at The Wormy Dog (still trying to figure out how that place ever shut down) to more serious moments throughout my collegiate career.

It doesn't matter when or where I hear them. They all take me back to my days in Stillwater...

Cross Canadian Ragweed - Carney Man

This takes the cake. I swear to God that I heard this song every day for at least 3 years. Every single day. This song could be heard at every bar every single night. If you were lucky you heard it by the original artist but you likely heard a cover. I'm not a huge fan of this band, or even this song, but it has it's place.

Stoney Larue - Alabama

If Carney is #1 this is a solid #2. I think this is actually another CCR song but I saw it mostly performed by Stoney and Boland and whoever else played the bars every night. Oddly enough, I'm having a hard time remembering. To me, this song stands the test of time. Well crafted with solid lyrics and a nice hook. Makes me think of the old Wormy Dog and/or "spin the wheel" night at Joe's. Where it was played every night for at least 2 years.

Israel Kamakawiwo`ole - Somewhere over the Rainbow

This song was played at the memorial service for the 10 that were killed in the plane crash. Absolutely the low point of my college career but this is a beautiful song and it was perfect on that day. I can't hear it without thinking about that day.

Next - Too Close

I had no idea who this artist was when I was searching for the video. Only the term " you're making it hard for me" It's unreal the things you see and hear in college! This song was played alot at parties. A song about boners. Genius.

I'm certain that everyone has a least one song like this. These are some of mine. What are yours?
