OSU Controls It's Own Destiny to Nat'l Championship
Oklahoma State is in prime position to make a run at the national championship. Their victory Saturday, led by stud quarterback Brandon Weeden, over then no. 8 Texas A&M at Kyle Field has put them in the top 5 of the AP Poll. Only LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama and Boise State lie ahead of the Pokes.
I know that it's very early in the season, and us Cowboys fans are known to get ahead of ourselves, but it's just too much fun to think about. Every year is supposed to be "our year," but this year just feels different.

Oklahoma State is now 4-0, 1-0 Big 12. They are ranked at #5 in the AP Poll and are playing some great football (especially that now famous 2nd half). here's how things could shake out.
The current AP Top 5 looks like this:
1. LSU
2. Oklahoma
3. Alabama
4. Boise State
5. Oklahoma State
No. 1 LSU and no. 3 Alabama play during the regular season, which means that one of them will drop out of the top 5. Let's say that LSU wins that game, that drops Alabama out and puts the Pokes at 4.
The way this season is looking, Bedlam is going to be one of the biggest games of the year. With no. 2 Oklahoma and no. 4 Oklahoma State playing to close the regular season, the loser of this game drops out of the top 5 as well.
If Oklahoma State wins that game (which they will, right?), that knocks Oklahoma out of the top. With another win over a top 5 team, that would very likely vault OSU over Boise State, make them the number 2 team in the nation and put them in the national title.
I know that the BCS is what determines who plays for the title, but the AP poll is a factor of the BCS, and OSU's win over Texas A&M should earn them some pretty points and have them in the top 5.
We all know that college football produces some crazy shit and teams always get screwed, and we've only played 4 weeks of football, but it is very possible. These Cowboys believe that they can do it, and so do I.

Actually the AP poll doesn't play a factor. It's the Coaches Poll that does.
But still, your points are very valid. OSU certainly controls its own destiny at this point and can get to the top of the mountain top.
But there is a long way to go. Road trips to Columbia, Austin, Lubbock, and Ames stand in front of this team. Those are all huge hurdles.
And then of course, there is Bedlam.
Still I love the enthusiasm and I think every OSU fan should feel the same way.

Technically OSU (and everyone else) has controlled their own destiny since what? February?
I’m all for enthusiasm and all, but let’s just get out of Austn with a win before we get too mouthy.

BAMA vs. OSU
I would love to see this! I don’t think we (BAMA) are going to lose to LSU and would be more than happy to watch a good game between BAMA and OSU, offense vs. deffense.
