New Year brings potential joy and/or pain for the Cowboys

Starting at 5pm CST Dec 31, things could be full of celebration or mourning, or some combination thereof.

There is a part of me that loves it.

There is also a part of me that doesn't.

I'm excited for the opportunity to get OSU twice in a 24 hour period.

I'm not excited that I don't have time to enjoy or recover between games, but I guess that is the risk inherent in getting my OSU overload on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

One thing is for sure...my wife will be VERY happy when it's over. She does not share my enthusiasm for all things Oklahoma State. Her orange is of the Syracuse persuasion.

The end to the winter holiday season brings Gonzaga to GIA, and a matchup with Purdue in the "Heart of Dallas" Bowl (which we are all starting to warm up to after the initial disgust of being sent to a bowl nobody had heard of.)

Favored heavily in one, underdog in the other.

No shock if we lose to Gonzaga, complete shock if we don't pummel Purdue. This is the scenario I'm most comfortable dealing with. It would be expected.

But we could also get overwhelmed with joy or depression. Cowboys win both....we could ride that for a few days. Cowboys lose both and we might not come out into the sun for a month.

So given that we obviously would like to win both and we obviously don't want to lose both, which would you rather see?
