Lane Taylor is happy about it, are you?
There are some that have said bringing Savannah State to Stillwater for the home opener is a "new low" but I'm not buying it. Sure, they are a division 1-AA program in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference but they'll be just right for a team breaking in a freshman quarterback.
Last year, "State" lost 59-3 to Bethune-Cookman, 45-3 to Norfolk State, 47-7 to Florida A&M, 44-17 to Morgan State, 41-6 to Appalachian State and 63-6 to Southeastern Louisiana. Whoever scheduled these guys is a genius!
There is absolutely no way that Wes Lunt doesn't have a tremendous multiple TD debut. What could be better? And the defense! If our defense allows more than 200 total yards it will be a complete failure. So, Lunt throws 7 TD's and the Cowboy D pitches a shutout.
Ladies and gentleman, that's called a division 1-AA win.
