OKLAHOMA STATE @ IOWA STATE GAMETHREAD

The Cowboys return to the scene of what was arguably the most heartbreaking loss in program history with an opportunity to keep their Big 12 championship hopes alive. If Daxx makes an appearance, it's either a colossal blowout or Gundy is trolling us mercilessly. Would we really care?

TW lists the starters, and GUESS WHO IS LISTED AT QB....

Things of curiosity...

  • Who starts at QB? All reports say Chelf.
  • Will it be a return to what we saw during Chelf's time as starter in 2012, with Walsh coming in for short yardage and goal line situations? Or will we see the short leash Gundy has now demonstrated twice this season?
  • How much action will the new kid on the RB block see? Smith should start, but has Childs passed Roland on the depth chart? If Childs gets the start, I'm pretty sure that would signal a new era under Gundy as he has always been ultra loyal to upperclassmen.
  • What's happening with OSU kicking game?
  • Will the defense continue it's stingy ways, or will Iowa State's OC Courtney "The Great Big" Messingham suddenly discover intelligent play calling and befuddle Glenn Spencer's unit?
  • Will Cowboys OC Mike Yurcich continue what looked like a commitment to a more vertical passing attack, or will we find out he was just daydreaming? Did Childs reinvigorate his love for the screen pass?
  • Presuming an OSU win, do we care how it happens, or are we at the point that we are just happy to survive and advance?
  • Will Squinky attempt to take advantage of having a sellout crowd at Jack Trice Stadium?
