The playoffs continued for the 2014 Oklahoma State commits, as all but 2 advanced to the next round:
QB Mason Rudolph and Northwestern advanced to the South Carolina Class 4A State Championship with a 49-21 win over North Augusta. Rudolph finished the night 28 of 39 passing for 319 yards and 6 touchdowns and one interception. Those numbers brought Mason's season totals to 3,889 yards on 310 of 425 passing for 56 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Rudolph has also added 516 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground.
WR James Washington finished the night with 4 catches for 137 yards and 3 touchdowns, while adding another touchdown on a 11 yard run as Samford defeated Sundown 42-7. For the season, Washington has accounted for 1,104 yards on 53 catches and 22 touchdowns.
RB Devon Thomas and LB Gyasi Akem saw their high school careers come to an end in a 30-12 loss to Union Friday night. Thomas finished the game with 72 yards on 14 carries, however he made one costly mistake late in the 4th quarter on the Union 11 yard line when BA was trying to make it a one score game. Thomas attempted to reverse the field when Union appeared to have him corralled on the right side and was eventually taken down back at the 45 yard line. Thomas finished the season with 845 yards on 187 carries and 6 touchdowns.
Akem came up with a big interception on a fake field goal pass by Union in the 2nd quarter. The forced turnover led to a field goal to cut the Union lead to 16-9 at the time. Akem finished the season with 11 solo tackles, 48 assisted tackles, and 10 tackles for a loss.
CB Dylan Harding caught an 8 yard pass in an easy 46-14 Jenks win over Westmoore. Jenks advances to play Union in the Oklahoma Class 6A State Championship in Boone Pickens Stadium Thursday night.
WR Chris Lacy finished his night with 3 catches for 31 yards and a 2 point conversion catch as Desoto rolled to a 56-34 victory over Arlington Martin. Lacy currently has 61 catches for 1,142 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. Desoto remains unbeaten as the advance to the Texas Class 5A Division 1 Regional Finals.
OL Lemaefe Galea'i and Euless Trinity were in a back and forth battle with Southlake Carroll ending in a 42-38 Euless victory. Both teams combined for 1,110 yards of offense, as Euless advances to the Texas Class 5A Division 1 Regional Finals.
DE Cole Walterscheid had another solid game recording five tackles (two for a loss), a QB hurry and two QB hits as Muenster defeated San Angelo Texas Leadership Academy 41-18 to advance to the Class 1A Division 2 regional finals.
CB Juwan Offray and DT Joyan Williams helped the Edna Karr defense shut out Franklinton in a 26-0 victory. Franklinton was held to just 49 total yards in the 2nd half. Edna Karr advances to the Louisiana Class 4A semifinals.
LB Justin Phillips had an interception for the 2nd consecutive game which led to a touchdown as Pearland defeated Lamar 21-13. Lamar was held under 20 points for the first time this season. The win advanced Pearland to the Texas Class 5A Regional 1 finals.
