Looks like the writers of the world were impressed by the Cowboys 59-3 win over Lamar last night. Or maybe they feel bad for us for the whole SI thing. Other rankings of note? Oklahoma held strong at 14, Baylor moved up 2 spots to 20 and Texas Tech comes in at 25 thanks to their screw job victory over TCU on Thursday night.
The full ranking can be seen here
Important thing here is we're close to the top 10 as conference play begins. Don't want to get ahead of myself - but as it stands now, there are about 8 teams with a legit shot at going undefeated and playing Alabama for a title.
Oregon, Stanford, Clemson, Florida State, Ohio State, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and [throws up] Baylor.
Oregon and Stanford play each other at Stanford on a Thursday night game in November. Clemson has Florida State at home and then closes the season out with a road game at South Carolina (who has owned them). Ohio State looks certain to finish undefeated in the Big 10 but will that be enough to compete with an undefeated team out of the Big 12 or Pac 12? Probably not.
Which brings us to the Big 12. Can the Cowboys cruise to an undefeated season?
