GAME DAY GAMETHREAD: Oklahoma State at Kansas

Yep, that's right. Even the Jayhawks will warrant some conversation.

The last time the Cowboys traveled to Lawrence, this happened...

That's correct.

I had to get this from KU Athletics. Not surprised, as who would want to watch this. Even the highlights were awful.

Let's hope something a little more inspiring comes to fruition today in the land of really bad football.

Another solid Saturday of college football, with conference play entering the meat of the schedule. The Big 12 has some really good offerings today.

West Virginia @ Texas Tech (11am on FS1) and Oklahoma vs Texas (11am on ABC/ESPN3) lead off the day.

While the Mountaineers have lost two games, they could still make some noise by running the table, and that is not all that impossible. Their only two losses came to Bama and OU in close games. They also get Baylor, TCU, and Kansas State in Morgantown. That run has to start today in Lubbock against a coach that might be pretty, but might also be in a bit of trouble.

The Sooners and Longhorns get together for the annual "Red River Rivalry." I hate that they changed it.

I wouldn't be shocked with anything today. Oklahoma should win, but I could see a complete blowout or an underwhelming victory.

The marquee game of the day will obviously be #9 TCU @ #5 Baylor at 2:30pm on ABC/ESPN2. The winner will be in the driver's seat, if only for a little bit. Baylor has the decided advantage, playing at home and getting TCU after a really big win over OU. If the Frogs come out flat, Petty and Bears might jump all over them. This has the makings of a classic.

Not to be ignored, Iowa State gets in it's final non-conference game (because they played KState in the 2nd game of the season) as they host Toledo. This will NOT be on TV (unless you want to head over to Iowa State's athletic site and pay the man) and I don't think any of us will be worse off for it. Imagine if the Cyclones go all season with only one win over Iowa.

Next up will be OSU @ KU at 3pm on FS1. The Cowboys started as a 3 TD favorite, but the money has gone a bit towards the Jayhawks. Their defense has performed admirably, and with Gundycich in charge of the offense, who knows what the heck with happen today. I imagine we'll see more creative ways to NOT get the ball to Tyreek in space...

Kansas State is taking the weekend off to watch the carnage.

There are plenty of other great games and intrigue today, so check out the full schedule here.
