What a game. Extremely sloppy play calling and execution and quite frankly, I think we deserved to lose. They say a win is a win, but the Cowboys wouldn't have gotten that today if it weren't for a select group of players stepping up when their teammates and coaching staff didn't.
Honorable Mention
Ben Grogan
After a rocky Freshman year, Ben Grogan has made a complete turnaround as a kicker, making twelve of his last thirteen. Today he successfully converted two field goals on three tries. His only miss was tipped by a defender who broke through the line.
Desmond Roland
He only picked up 87 yards on the ground today, but Roland was able to break away for a 33-yard touchdown run and on a day like today, any score is crucial.
Nominations
Emmanuel Ogbah
Ogbah had himself a big game by recording ten tackles, two sacks, and tied a school record 5.5 tackles for a loss. Ogbah spent the afternoon providing necessary pressure on a defensive line that was relatively quiet.
Josh Furman
Furman grabbed his sixth sack of the season, as well as forcing a fumble, making multiple tackles, and getting the game-winning interception with under a minute left in the game.
Tyreek Hill
Last, but certainly not least is Tyreek Hill. Despite getting only four offensive touches, Hill was able to rack up and lead the team with 52 receiving yards. His most important contribution came when he returned a Jayhawk kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, breaking the tie and giving the Cowboys a late lead.
