Welp. We have a new #1 team in both of the major polls this week and it is Mississippi State? Yes, it is Mississippi State. It is hard to argue with what they have done thus far, smoking LSU, taking it to Texas A&M and defeating Auburn. Florida State fans are upset today, but remember Seminole fans, it is about where you finish, not where you start.
In the Big 12, there was a massive showdown between undefeated teams, as TCU traveled to Waco to take on Baylor, and in the first Big 12 basketball game of the year, Baylor beat TCU 61-58. Bryce Petty threw for over 500 yards and led Baylor to a 21 point 4th quarter comeback. TCU falls to 12 in both of the polls, and Baylor moves up to 4th, as the only unbeaten left in the Big 12.
Oklahoma State moved up to 15th in both polls, as they defeated the Kansas Jayhawks 27-20. Tyreek Hill gave the Cowboys the late lead as he ran a kick back 99 yards in 11.3 seconds (zoom zoom!) The whole offensive line struggled and so did Daxx. It was the first road game of the year for the Cowboys, so it wasn;t totally shocking they came out flat, but much improvement will be needed for next weeks game against TCU.
Kansas State enjoyed a nice bye week, probably knitting in Bill Snyder's home.
