The Cowboys were able to come away with a 37-20 win on Saturday, advancing them to 4-1 (2-0) on the season. Looking back, there was a lot to be desired from the offense. The defense played pretty well and as a whole, the team played good, but there is room for improvement (actually a need, have you seen our schedule?). Anyway, here our the nominations for Player of the Game.
Nominations
Desmond Roland
Roland amassed 95 yards on the ground and had two touchdowns in Saturday's win. With the offensive line the Cowboys have, it's impressive to get near 100 yards. The first touchdown at the end of the half was a bit controversial and prompted Iowa State's athletic director to go on a rant against Big 12 referees.
Josh Furman
Furman had a big day and his best performance so far this season. He recorded ten tackles, two tackles for a loss, and two sacks including this monster hit.

Special Teams
Coming into the game, Iowa State had one of the best special teams units in college football and Oklahoma State flat out owned them. They recovered a crazy onside kick, made three field goals on three attempts, and racked up 194 return yards. Half of which came when Tyreek Hill flexed his speed by taking a kick return to the house!

After a total transformation, Ben Grogan has been incredible and has made his last 10 attempts. If he keeps this up, he'll likely start appearing on Groza watchlists.
