The Cowboys are getting some much needed experience on the defensive side of the ball for next season. Kilgore Junior College safety Jordan Burton has given his commitment to Glenn Spencer and the OSU coaching staff.

Listed at 6-1 210 lbs with an unofficial 4.5 forty time, Burton is a very physical safety that will play star linebacker for Coach Spencer. Jordan, originally from Longview, Texas, totaled 108 total tackles (52 solo) on the season which earned him All-SWJCFC honors.

Burton had originally committed to Memphis back in July, but appeared to keep his options open this fall with the spectacular season he was having. That decision paid off, as he was reportedly recruited by Kansas, Iowa State, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Tulsa, and ULL.

With Senior Josh Furman graduating, Burton will undoubtedly see playing time next season as he will be joining the Pokes for spring practice this year. Jordan becomes the 16th commitment for the 2015 class and the second linebacker joining Za'Carrius Green in the defensive backfield.
