The Cowboys placed fifth in the first poll and are the second highest ranked team in the Big 12.

Only TCU placed higher than the Pokes and the Horned Frogs were second behind defending national champion Vanderbilt.

Four Big 12 teams made it in the Top 40 and all four of them were within the top nine.

Those four are: TCU, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech

Four players highlight the senior class of 10 for the Cowboys. Outfielder, Gage Green, catcher Bryan Case, shortstop Tim Arakawa and starting pitcher Jon Perrin are players that will play a key role in the success in Stillwater this season.

Green led the team in stolen bases with 20 in 2014. He was caught stealing only twice.

Case was second behind now minor leaguer Zach Fish in slugging percentage last season with .488.

Arakawa has been one of the emotional linchpins to the team since his arrival to Stillwater. Arakawa started every game last season at short and picked up the most walks of any Cowboy in 2014.

Perrin was one of the marquee pitchers last season and will be once again. Perrin pitched for 102 innings last year and threw two complete games. Perrin was the only Cowboy pitcher to throw a single complete game.
