There are 11 QB's who have more Super Bowl wins.
There is one QB who has passed for more yards, completions, and touchdowns. If Manning continues to play and stays healthy, he would pass Brett Farve in TD's next season, and would likely need 2 more seasons to gain the top spot for yards and completions.
But there has never been a QB considered more of a "coach" on the field than Peyton Manning.
Obviously his name must be mentioned in the conversation about the greatest NFL QB's of all time. If he directs the Broncos to a Super Bowl victory, can he stake a claim to being the GOAT? It would seem to me that a win would make him the most prolific passer who has also won championships. Are Super Bowl rings the only determining factor for who the greatest NFL QB of all time should be?
Meanwhile Seattle makes their 2nd Super Bowl appearance in franchise history with an aggressive, physical defense, along with dynamic playmakers in QB Russell Wilson, RB Marshawn Lynch, and WR's Percy Harvin and Golden Tate. The Seahawks also bring a couple of former Oklahoma State offensive lineman to the mix in Russell Okung and Michael Bowie, so my rooting interests are a bit split for now.
The #1 NFL offense against the #1 NFL defense. Check out Field Gulls and Mile High Report for all the latest news.
Should be fun.
