This is a pretty great prelude to National Signing Day. Jarrell Owens is a 6'3 240 DE/RB/LB hybrid, but I fully expect him to play on the defensive side of the ball. Owens is from Palestine, TX, where he attends Palestine High School.
He's an athletic freak with great strength and size. I'm almost positive he'll play DE since he seemingly fits the mold of the athletic ends that OSU covets.
Here's how all the different recruiting services rank Owens.
Recruiting Service | Stars |
ESPN | 3 |
Scout | 4 |
Rivals | 3 |
247Sports | 3 |
He was a huge riser in Scout's recent ranking update. He went from being unranked at the DE position all the way to being ranked as the 16th best DE.
He had committed to TCU last June.
Owens is the 28th commitment for an already stellar OSU class. As of right now, he'll join Jordan Brailford and Trey Carter as the third 4 star DE recruit.
Here's a highlight video of Owens.
