Former Cowboy wrestling great Chris Perry represented Oklahoma State well in Hungary Wednesday, taking home silver in the University World Championships at 86 kg/189 pounds. Perry fell to Moldova's Piotr lanulov in the finals, 5-3, after breezing his way into the gold medal matchup.
The Stillwater native began his run with an 8-0 victory over Romania's Andrei Frant, then defeated Namik Korkmaz of Turkey, 4-2. Perry pinned Hungary's Sandor Tozer to receive a shot at the gold medal.
Perry became a legend while at Oklahoma State by claiming four Big 12 titles and two NCAA individual titles. After graduating from OSU, Perry earned his spot in the University World Championships after taking first prize in the University National Tournament in May.
