Cowboys Almost Crack the Amway Coaches Poll

The Top 5 of the Amway Coaches Poll remained the same this week, as all 5 teams prevailed. Number one, and two, Florida State and Alabama, struggled mightily with Oklahoma State, and West Virginia respectively, but it wasn't enough to catapult the Big 12 teams into the Top 25.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

This week's Amway's Coaches Poll was released today, and my instant reaction to the poll is surprise. Texas A&M moved up 7 spots from #20 to #13, but South Carolina down 12 spots to 21 was a shocker based off the way the polls have been SEC spirit rallies in the past.

The top 5 held true to form despite a couple of narrow wins.

Big 12 teams that did make the list are, Oklahoma at #3 (but they lost a first place vote), Baylor at #9, Kansas State at #20, and the Texas Longhorns came in at #25 with 150 votes.

Oklahoma State just failed to make the top 25 being team number "26", if you want to call it that. They were the first team out with 106 votes. Hopefully one or two weeks down the line, we see a pretty number next to the Cowboys.
