Jawun Evans took an official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend, and it sounds like he's made his choice.
Jawun Evans' mentor tells me there won't be any "prima donna" press conference announcement for Evans, decision likely next Wed or Thurs.

This was followed up with...
5-Star PG Jawun Evans will announce his commitment via his twitter account (@Hungry_humble0) at 10am tomorrow morning. Stay tuned.

Evans is deciding between OSU, Illinois, and USC, with OSU and Illinois said to be the favorites.
He's a 6-0 point guard from Dallas, Texas (If he commits, I think it's safe to say Travis Ford runs Dallas).
Here's a summary of where he falls on all the scouting services.
Recruiting Service | Stars | Overall Ranking | Position Ranking |
ESPN | 4 | 36 | 6 |
247Sports | 5 | 8 | 2 |
Rivals | 4 | 26 |
6 |
As you can see, he'd be a big time get for Travis Ford and company. Watching some highlights, a few things stand out. He's fast, like really, really fast. Secondly, he finishes at the rim very well, especially for a guy his size.
Here's what ESPN analyst Paul Biancardi had to say about Evans in August.
This quick and mighty point guard is quick to penetrate and force a defense to help. When that happens he makes the opponent pay with a high-level decision. Evans plays the game fast but processes slowly, which helps his vision and decision-making stand out. His scoring prowess allows him to create drives and finish at the rim or make a step-back jumper behind a ball screen. He has a bulldog mentality to defend his position. For Evans to take the next step he must add a floater and a two-foot jump stop when driving the lane to be even more effective. He was outstanding at the NBPA camp and has kept up the high level of play all summer.
Sounds pretty good, right?
Evans commitment could also have some very nice consequences. Evans and fellow OSU target, Elijah Thomas have discussed playing together, and Thomas is down to Illinois and OSU. Thomas, if you don't know, is a 5 star center. Here's a link from an earlier writeup if you want more information on him. However, Thomas recently said Illinois is the favorite, but there is some hope. Here's Jerry Meyer's, the director of basketball scouting for 247Sports, take on the situation.
Pick based on his words. Intel split. Not confident MT @kodyhaas: U pretty confident n Elijah Thomas to Illinois pick or more of a feeling?

Meyer has also predicted that Evans will commit to OSU.
247Sport's Crystal Ball has the Cowboys as the favorites for Evans, and for what it's worth, I think Evans will be committing to the Pokes this week. Let's hope that happens!
Here's some highlights of Evans. Enjoy.
Go Pokes!
