1995 Final Four team to be recognized vs Kansas on Feb 7th

Halftime against the Jayhawks should bring some good memories from Eddie Sutton's first trip to the Final Four with Oklahoma State.

GIA should be full to the brim when Bill Self and Kansas come calling on Saturday, Feb 7, for a 1:00pm Central tilt on ESPN.

Those present will get a special treat, as the 1995 Final Four squad will be honored at halftime. Bryant "Big Country" Reeves, Randy Rutherford, and Chianti Roberts led the Cowboys to their highest season win total at that time (it's now #2 to the 31 wins posted by the 2004 Final Four squad).

The highlights above are great to watch, and Dick Vitale talking about Chianti Roberts slayed me. He later referred to GIA as "Cameron Indoor Stadium West" in OSU's win over Kansas.

Here's the Final Four game against UCLA, who would go on to win the Finals...

Ah, yes, those were the days...

Here's the complete roster from that season (starters):

3 Kevin Miles F 6-8 224 So.
4 Randy Staats G 6-0 171 So.
12 Chad Alexander G 6-3 184 Fr.
15 Randy Rutherford G 6-3 188 Sr.
20 Scott Pierce F 6-9 211 Sr.
22 Tommy Warner G 6-0 154 Fr.
23 Chianti Roberts G/F 6-5 222 So.
32 Terry Collins F 6-6 190 Sr.
33 Mike Hendren G 6-5 192 Fr.
35 Andre Owens G 5-11 180 Jr.
43 Jason Skaer F 6-7 215 Fr.
44 Ben Baum C 6-11 234 So.
45 John Nelson C 6-11 259 Fr.
50 Bryant Reeves C 7-0 292 Sr.

Reeves and Rutherford carried the offensive load, averaging 53% of OSU's points per game. But this team's identity was on defense, where they regularly smothered opponents. Vintage Eddie.
