COLLEGE FOOTBALL OPEN GAMETHREAD: Oklahoma State at Texas Tech

I think we've finally reached the week where we will learn whether or not this team is a contender.

Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

Seems like we've been saying this every week, even for Kansas. What will we learn about this team?

This may be the week we find out.

Maybe.

The Cowboys travel to Lubbock on Halloween for a 3:30pm Eastern contest on ESPN to face a top 5 offense in the country, but also a bottom 10 defense (or pretty close to that). How will the OSU offense, and more specifically the running game, fair with resistance similar to what they faced against Kansas? Will arguably the best defensive front 4 in the conference be able to limit Mahomes' success?

As for the rest of the conference, the action is not too exciting. TCU wiped out West Virginia, who seems to be focused on competing with Kansas for the bottom of the Big 12. This leaves us today with the Sooners obliterating Kansas at 3:30pm Eastern in FS1, and Texas traveling to Ames for a 7pm Eastern Halloween tilt on FS1, where Big 12 refs will be trying to figure out how they can trump their performance from two years ago.

There are a few other intriguing games. You can check out the rest of the schedule here.

Thanks again to Red Raiders Athletics, fans, and Viva The Matadors for their efforts in paying respect to OSU and the homecoming tragedy. Much appreciated.

Let us join in mutual agony or joy in the comments.

GO POKES!!!
