A few days ago, we posted the picture that is pretty much viral by now. It's the one featured above, Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph holding cancer survivor Gavin. Gavin was with Special Spectators, a group who helps kids battling serious illnesses have fun by taking them to games nationwide for the experience.
The story is already great. You could leave it there and no one would ask much more. Football comes second. In the end of the day, it's not as big as most other things in life. Jenni Carlson from The Oklahoman got this quote from Rudolph:
"It just kind of puts everything in perspective for us," Rudolph said. "If we're having a bad day, they're battling through something much worse.
"I was just kind of reflecting on how blessed I am and how little Gavin needs our prayers."
I really recommend going to the actual story and reading it in full. Carlson captured it in a way not many can. Here's the link.
