The Sour Taste Of 10-2

Got that sour taste, but nothing to be ashamed of

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Last night wasn't what anyone expected, ending Oklahoma State's season with a sour taste in every Cowboy fans' mouth. It's amazing how this ending was so much different, when about a year ago OSU was on a five game losing streak only to upset Oklahoma in Norman to be bowl eligible and win the bowl game against Washington. Now a year later, the Cowboys were on a hot streak of 12 in a row and entering the last two games with a 10-0 record with a possibility of claiming a playoff spot and winning the Big 12.

Sadly, we didn't get the fairy tale ending we hoped for and finished the season with a 10-2 record and a possible three-way tie for second place. Even though there was no happy ending, the Pokes came so far from being predicted to finish fifth or below and finishing in the top four in the Big 12 rankings. Let's admit, there has been some ugly and too-close to call wins, but Poke fans should be happy of the progress this team has made since last year.

The regular season is over, but there is still hope to ease that sour taste with the possibility of still going to a good bowl game and hopefully ending the season with an 11-2 record. Hopefully, Oklahoma State can rest up and continue to improve as we prepare for the bowl game. Hopefully this is the calm before the storm, as 2010 was to 2011.
