Week 14: Big 12 Showdown What to Watch For

Watch guide for the final regular season

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Oklahoma State and some other Big 12 teams are done until bowl season, however for other teams this is their last week. Here is some predictions and why you should watch one of them.

Texas (4-7) at Baylor (10-2) @ 11:00 a.m.:

Upset alert? Between this game and the West Virginia vs. Kansas State game, this is probably the one game Cowboy fans will be watching. If Baylor beats Texas, then the Bears would grab the Sugar Bowl slot since Oklahoma is most likely to go to the playoff. However, if Texas upsets Baylor then Oklahoma State would be the sole second place spot, taking the Sugar Bowl slot and forcing Baylor to the Alamo or Russell Athletic Bowl. Baylor is coming off last week's lost against TCU and will be ready for this match. As for Texas, they will most likely be done after this week, but the Longhorns are trying to pull off an upset and end the season on a high note with Charlie Strong's young squad. Both teams are starting their third-string quarterback, what means anything can happen with the way quarterbacks have been for the Big 12 this season.

Prediction: Baylor by 15

West Virginia (7-4) at Kansas State (5-6) @ 3:30:

West Virginia is on a hot streak and Kansas State is trying to pick up its sixth win to claim bowl eligibility. The Mountaineers are looking to continue to boost their bowl resume to try to get a good, decent bowl as they might end up in either Liberty or Texas bowl. As for Kansas State, no matter what happens, win or lose, they will still get a bowl spot because of the lack of bowl eligible teams and the APR will help them get in, should they accept. You may never know what Bill Synder has up his sleeves to pull off a win for the Wildcats on Senior day! Prediction: Kansas State by 6
