RECAP: Oklahoma State Suffers Heartbreak Against TCU

A hungry TCU team finally got themselves a win via the Cowboys.

The Pokes played a somewhat lethargic ballgame at a high school gym in Ft. Worth, where the TCU Horned Frogs kept the game close and eventually brought it home. Let's discuss.

First half summary: Um, some sort of basketball happened. Slow, lazy defense coupled with the Frogs not wanting to miss a shot kept things going back-and-forth. Forte started the scoring for OSU,  but it wasn't long before TCU answered.  At the end of the half, the Cowboys found themselves up 28-26.

Second half summary: Not much better this side of the horn. After trading shots again (I mean, TCU couldn't miss!), the Cowboys found themselves in a big hole. The three ball kept being fired, but the shots were unwilling to fall. After a few hustle plays and Le'Bryan Nash beginning to attack the basket, the Pokes tried to claw back in it. But momentum remained with the Horned Frogs, and they soon pulled away with the upset victory.

Nash led all scorers with 19 points, coupled with seven boards, two assists and seven turnovers. He was followed by Jeff Newberry with 10 points, three rebounds and Michael Cobbins with eight points, two rebounds. OSU shot 45 percent from the field, but went 3-16 from beyond the arc and committed 17 turnovers.

The Horned Frogs were led by Kyan Anderson,  who had 14 points and seven assists.  He himself was assisted by Trey Zeigler (13 points, five rebounds) and Amric Fields (12 points, three boards and two dimes). TCU went 52 percent from the field and 0-9 from three with 12 turnovers.

The Cowboys will look to bounce back as they face Iowa State in Stillwater on Wednesday.
