Golf: Kenzie Neisen Wins Big 12 Title
With a tense two-hole playoff victory, Oklahoma State freshman Kenzie Neisen claimed the conference title on Sunday, giving the Cowgirls their first conference champion since Caroline Hedwall in 2010. Neisen, who finished 4-under at 212, recorded a birdie on the ninth hole to propel her over Baylor's Laura Lonardi in the playoff.
The Cowgirls finished the tournament fifth overall with a score of 884; Baylor claimed the title with a final score of 867.Neisen was not the only Cowgirl in the top 10. Sophomore Linnea Johansson finished in ninth place at 219 and earned her place on the all-tournament squad.
The Cowgirls will find what lies ahead in the postseason on the NCAA Golf Championships selection show on the Golf Channel at 6 p.m. tomorrow (CST).
