Cowboys struggle at Big 12 Golf Championship
The fact is, everyone struggled big time...except Texas...on day one of the Big 12's tournament at Southern Hills.
Besides the Longhorns building an almost insurmountable 16 shot lead, the scores were shockingly high as conditions proved to be too much for most of the golfers.
OSU spent most of the morning round in last place before Kansas State made a late charge for the basement. The Cowboys moved up to 6th after the 2nd round, but did so mostly on the back of deteriorating play from everyone else. Winning may not be an option, but OSU trails 2nd place Iowa State by 11 shots, and that's doable.
Individually, Zachary Olsen carded 75-71 and stands at +6 (T10), and is the only Cowboy in the top 10. OSU has only 2 golfers in the top 20.
UT's Gavin Hall posted a phenomenal 65 in the morning round and leads at -4 through 36 holes. Scottie Scheffler, also of Texas, sits in 2nd place at -1.
