+

In a not-so-surprising announcement today, Micheal Freeman was named the 2015 Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year, highlighting a class of 10 Cowboys to receive All-Big 12 Honors. Freeman finished the season 9-2 with a 1.06 ERA and 85 strikeouts. Freeman is the first pitcher to win the honor since Andrew Haney in 2012. Catcher Gage Green and Infielder Donnie Walton were both named to the All Big 12 First team for the second straight year. Green has been one of the most consistent hitters for the Cowboys with a .286 batting average and 29 RBI's on the season including 5 home runs. Walton has continued his role as the heart and soul of this squad, finishing the year with a .315 batting average, 3 home runs, and 23 RBIs. Tim Arakawa, Corey Hassel, and Ryan Sluder were listed in the 2nd team All-Big 12 after fantastic seasons. Trey Cobb, Remey Reed, and Dustin Williams were listed as Honorable Mention performers. After a fantastic season in the infield Jacob Chappell was named to the Big 12 All-Freshmen squad. Chappell finished the season with a .270 batting average while driving in 19 runs and starting all 44 games for the Pokes.
