Cowboys Ride For Free Preseason Poll

New, 5 comments

Earlier I did my own preseason rankings of the Big 12 and wasn't fair enough to some teams according to some people. So I gathered some of the staff and got their rankings.

Here is the official Cowboys Ride For Free preseason Big 12 poll. We did it sort of how the media poll, which was recently released, where each writer gets to rank the teams and each placing are points. The point system is easy, first place team gets 10 points, last place gets one point. There were times by the way, where it looked as if we would have to release this with a tie for fifth place.]

Cowboys Ride For Free Preseason Big 12 Poll

Name Gerald Robert Colin Chris Ross Graham Coffelt Zach Collums Poteet King Jeremy Schultzy Averages Points
BU 1 3 3 2 2 2 3 4 3 2 2.5 80

UT 6 t5 7 7 6 5 5 5 7 5 5.8 52
WVU 5 t5 5 6 7 8 8 6 5 6 6.1 49

Here's a list of the teams from one to 10 for those who don't like looking at a lot of numbers put together at once like myself.

  1. TCU (98)
  2. OSU (86)
  3. BU (80)
  4. OU (71)
  5. UT (52)
  6. WVU (49)
  7. KSU (42)
  8. TT (33)
  9. ISU (18)
  10. KU (12)

For those visiting from outside of the OSU fanbase, it might come off as surprising that OSU is ranked so high, but then again, it might not. OSU is young and has the talent to be the No. 2 team in the conference and with the schedule, it seems to be in reach. However, it might be too high, especially when Baylor has done nothing but prove it deserves respect on the field the past few years and OU won eight games last year and that was a down year. The Big 12 is powerful, but are the Pokes really the second best team?
