2015 OPPONENTS 401

Conference action heats up. No more hiding.

Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

It's always good to be able to quickly review how opponents past and present are performing, which can obviously have quite an effect on OSU in the polls.

The title will be indicative of the week...week 1 is Opponents 101. Week 2 will be Opponents 201, and so on. Got it?

Is it possible for the Big 12 to follow up those two finishes from last week?

Unless otherwise noted, all games are on Saturday. Without further delay, here's the list for 2015:

Central Michigan Chippewas

Record: 1-3 (MAC West, 0-0)

Last Game: @ #2 Michigan State

Result: L, 30-10

Next Opponent: vs Northern Illinois

National Ranking: NR

CMU put up a valiant effort against the Spartans. The Chippewas open MAC play against an interesting 2-2 Huskies squad that played #1 Ohio State close.

Central Arkansas Bears (FCS)

Record: 1-2 (Southland, 1-0)

Last Game: @ Northwestern State

Result: W, 49-21

Next Opponent: vs Abilene Christian

National Ranking: NR

UCA pulls a mild upset, and continues against ACU, who is already 2-0 in conference play.

UTSA (University of Texas at San Antonio) Roadrunners

Record: 0-4 (Conf USA - West, 0-0)

Last Game: vs Colorado State

Result: L, 33-31

Next Opponent: @ UTEP

National Ranking: NR

The Roadrunners can't get over the hump, losing a close one to the Rams. UTSA had a chance, but stalled in Rams territory and had to punt. Colorado State then ran out the last 5 minutes on a 10 play drive. UTSA heads out to visit the Miners next.

Texas Longhorns

Record: 1-3 (Big 12, 0-1)

Last Game: vs #22 Oklahoma State

Result: L, 30-27

Next Opponent: @ #4 TCU

National Ranking: NR

Kansas State Wildcats

Record: 3-0 (Big 12, 0-0)

Last Game: Bye

Result: N/A

Next Opponent: @ #20 Oklahoma State

National Ranking: NR

The Purple Wizard comes to Stillwater. That always makes me uncomfortable, but at least I'll be there to help fight him off.

West Virginia Mountaineers

Record: 3-0 (Big 12, 0-0)

Last Game: vs Maryland

Result: W, 45-6

Next Opponent: @ #15 Oklahoma

National Ranking: 23

Oooooooooh boy. This is gonna be good, no matter what happens.

Kansas Jayhawks

Record: 0-3 (Big 12, 0-0)

Last Game: @ Rutgers

Result: L, 27-14

Next Opponent: @ Iowa State

National Ranking: NR

This is normally the Jayhawks annual shot at a win, but it's in Ames.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

Record: 3-1 (Big 12, 0-1)

Last Game: vs #3 TCU

Result: L, 55-52

Next Opponent: @ #5 Baylor

National Ranking: NR

What a way to lose, and you get to back it up with the Bears on the road. PLEASE do something amazing...

TCU Horned Frogs

Record: 4-0 (Big 12, 1-0)

Last Game: @ Texas Tech

Result: W, 55-52

Next Opponent: vs Texas

National Ranking: 4

You keep winning, but you keep dropping. Your next opponent will not help your strength of schedule, but they can help you come up with conspiracy theories as to why the voters don't like you.

Iowa State Cyclones

Record: 1-2 (Big 12, 0-0)

Last Game: Bye

Result: N/A

Next Opponent: vs Kansas

National Ranking: NR

If you're going to have a "guaranteed" win on the schedule, this is as close as you get.

Baylor Bears

Result: 3-0 (Big 12, 0-0)

Last Game: vs Rice

Result: W, 70-17

Next Opponent: vs Texas Tech

National Ranking: 5

This week's matchup will be entaining. There should be an O/U for minutes between scores. I'll go with 2.

Oklahoma Sooners

Record: 3-0 (Big 12, 0-0)

Last Game: Bye

Result: N/A

Next Opponent:  vs West Virginia

National Ranking: 15
